Buyer / Category Expert

Location: Poland, Bydgoszcz (Remote)

The role has a solid reporting line either into the relevant Head of Subarea within each Procurement Tower for management and development, but the role is designed to take direction from all Subarea Heads as demand requires or directly to Category Manager.

Locally this role has a reporting line to GDC Procurement Director. The role is important to the successful delivery of required cost base for the GBU Business and requires cross-functional working with many different areas of the Procurement organisations and some internal clients across all Service Lines, Major Accounts, and Verticals.

The Category expert will:

1. Work with all Global and Local team members to identify, integrate and realise global and local actions applicable to the subarea

2. Ensure integration of purchasing activities of the subarea with other functions and operations in GBU 3. Contribute to the Global purchasing network by participating in or leading purchasing teams and actions within subarea. Share and integrate best practises

4. Contribute to local procurement strategy to achieve TCO savings, risk management and value creation inside GBU

5. Ensure relevant commercial flow down to subarea third party suppliers as determined by the Procurement Bid team.

Essential Skills:

  • University graduate;
  • Minimum B2 of written and spoken English is mandatory, knowledge of German/ French is advantage;
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in Procurement, Sales
  • International mindset;
  • Previous experience of managing stakeholders;
  • Results oriented with proven negotiation skills driving savings and supplier partnerships
  • Basic Commercial awareness & financial modeling capability
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to ensure credibility and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from numerous of geographies;
  • Clear focus on delivery to client and demonstrable understanding of requirement to flex business models to meet customer demand;
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly to drive performance improvement;
  • Proven experience in cross-country negotiation and savings delivery in category specialty;
  • Ability to manage and mitigate risk through effective strategic planning activity;
  • Able to plan and manage own workload effectively;
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Organization and strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrates good analytical skills;
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to progress issues and queries, escalating when necessary;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel;
  • Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Previous experience of presenting to large audiences;
  • Degree Educated, or with equivalent experience;
  • Takes initiative to keep skills up to date and maintain awareness of developments in the industry sector;
